Ministry Highlights & Happenings

Martin Luther King Jr. Day- MLK Day- Monday Jan. 19th- "DAY ON" 365 Days of the Year at FBCM

"Everybody can be great...because anyone can serve...you only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love." These words by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr are words we at FBCM believe and stive to live everyday. Anyone can serve, participate fully in the life and ministry of our church, and nurture their call. Whether 3 years old or 90, black or brown or white, able-bodied or a person with a disability, straight or gay or pan, cis or trans or non-binary, a member of the church or not, all are welcomed, supported, encouraged, and invited- all you need is a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love.

Feeding the Hungry

Rev. Dr. King said, "I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality, and freedom for their spirts." FBCM's food pantry, rooted in our mission to serve, began years ago as a small, folding table in our lounge with a few non-perishable items. Since then, it has grown into a multi-room operation, feeding 250-300 people weekly, and now also providing a Coffee Ministry to our clients.  Our dedicated volunteer staff work tirelessly collecting donations, stocking and restocking shelves, and greeting each guest with love, dignity, and care. It truly is a ministry of service to the community- not just our Moorestown community, but our neighboring towns as well. If you or anyone you know  needs our pantry, our hours are Tuesdays 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM and 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Thursdays 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. If you are interested in volunteering, donating money or food, or learning more about our food pantry, please email fbcmoorestown@gmail.com.

Serving Others

MLK Day is often called a Day of Service or a Day On, Not a Day Off. FBCM celebrates and recognizes this as a day of service; however, we also believe that this service should lead to justice, and healing and reconciliation, where our service combats poverty, hunger, racism, and transphobia, and helps build the beloved community. We serve each other through our Children and Youth Ministries, Care Team, Prayer Team, Transportation Ministry, Community Garden open to all, Food Pantry, Music Ministry, LGBTQIA+ Ministry, Visual Arts, Tech, Health and Wellness, Sunday Service, Small Groups and Studies, and our Justice Dialogues. Please click on our Ministries tab at the top of this page for more info on specific FBCM ministries.

One of MLK's most urgent and asked questions was, "What are you doing for others?". May we not ask ourselves this question just on MLK Day, but tomorrow, the next day, and each day of the year. Happy Day of Service, or Day On, 365 days of the year.
